Ground Turkey Cabbage Rolls Recipe

Most countries around the world have a cabbage rolls recipe as a traditional food, especially Europe, India and the Middle East. This Cabbage Rolls Recipe uses ground turkey or chicken, but ground pork or beef can be easily substituted.

Cabbage Rolls Recipe Ingredients:

  • 10 green cabbage leaves
  • 1/2 pound ground turkey or ground chicken meat (extra lean is a healthy choice)
  • 1 yellow onion finely diced
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 stalks celery finely diced
  • 1/2 cup plain bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 1/2 cup black pitted olives chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Cabbage Rolls Recipe Instructions:

Add oil to pan and over medium heat saute onion.

Add celery and garlic and cook for a few minutes, then add turkey or chicken meat and cook until browned.

Add white wine to the mix, stir and cook away the liquid.

Remove the pan from heat and set aside.

Add cabbage leave to a boiling pot of water, cooking about 2 to 3 minutes, and immediately remove leaves and drain.

Add olives, salt, and bread crumbs to meat mixture in pan.

Lay a cabbage leaf on a plate and spoon mixture onto the middle of the leaf. Fold the two sides of the leaf over the filling and roll up the cabbage leaf. Repeat for remaining cabbage leaves.

Serve and enjoy while the Cabbage Rolls are still warm.
